I'm not sure why there are only five wines on the Web page: there were 14 on the PDF they sent out by e-mail yesterday. Maybe port lovers telephoned them in droves yesterday afternoon and this morning, and the other 9 are all sold!

Prices there are quite good IMO. Since those are 12-pack cases that about 35 pounds per bottle (pre-VAT I assume) for the Fonseca. Even with the dollar taking a hit right now, that's in the $55 (USD) per bottle range. I see no reason to complain, that appears to be quite a good price

Yeah, those prices are much more reasonable, at least from a US-pricing perspective.

I'd really like to get a bottle or two of the VVV and possibly a 6-pack of the Capela, but now that I no longer have a handy (and subsidized) reason to get to Europe on a regular basis I don't think it's going to happen.

I agree. I telephoned as soon as I received the e-mail yesterday to ask for 12 bottles--four three-bottle cases--of VVV, and was told: 3 bottles yes, 6 bottles maybe, 12 bottles no. So I ordered a six-bottle case of Capela as well. I suspect that all the VVV has indeed been sold, and that anyone who didn't place a request by this morning is too late.

The full allocation of Dow's at BBR, was fully sold out inside of 3 hours!

As I told folks in another thread here, the high pricing is not coming from the Shippers and the BBR offering proves this. It is due to at least one retailer (K&L) jacking up the price. Hopefully others will be more prudent.

I would not be surprised to see more tranches in the UK, including at BB&R. Of course the best pricing is typically the first tranche and if they sell out early, prices tend to go higher (naturally) in later tranches. Whether that will happen this year or not will be something to keep a keen eye on.
