I love their Kirkland 10 Year Tawny by Fonseca. Totally different than Fonseca for a few bucks less. Lots of eucalyptus, toffee/caramel and plenty sweet. I think the blend has changed since its introduction, but haven’t had different releases side-by-side.

My Costco has the Presidential 20 in the decanter packaging. They’ve had recent vintages of Taylor, Ramos Pinto, and Fonseca. They are selling Fonseca 10 year, Sandeman (in the frosted bottle), as well Dow’s LBV. All at competitive prices.

Colorado law prohibits chain liquor stores and grocery stores from selling alcohol above 3.2% abv beer, so we have only one Costco that I am aware of that has a liquor store attached, and it didn't have much last time I checked. On the one hand, this takes away some shopping convenience. On the other hand, this actually results in a greater variety of craft beers and lesser know wines in the totality of stores that we have. After that diversion ...

No, I've never bought Port at Costco.

Costco also exist in the UK and many years ago they were my main source of SQVP. I recall buying Quarles Harris, Dow's Bomfim and a few others from them in the days when my port consumption consisted of around 3 or 4 bottles per year

I have noticed recently that the range of ports available at Costco has deminished significantly. They are currently selling Taylor Vargellas 98 at a not very competative price. I have never seen a Kirkland branded port, although that brand is used extensively in their UK stores for other products - particularly food.

Yes! My house Tawny is curently the Warre's Otima 20 Year Old Tawny - $24.85 (500 ml) - a great deal!

Current ports in the Bay Area Cosco's are Graham's Six Grapes, Taylor 10 y.o, Graham 20 y.o. Dow 20 y.o., Sandeman 20 y.o., and 2005 Taylor Vargellas.

Their selections really vary from store to store and the Costco's near me rarely, if ever, have anything other than Bin 27, Taylors' 10 year tawny, and Kirkland's 10 year tawny (by Fonseca). Since I'm not a huge fan of any of those I rarely buy Port at costco. I have bought other dry wines and Sauternes there though when the prices were rather good.

Did you pick up the Château d'Yquem vertical case they were selling. 12 different vintages in 750 ml for like $900.00. Seemed like a deal when it was there. Picked up a couple of CA double mag's around the holiday season. There were priced at "bottle rates", so why not get one for the heck o it?

My Costco also has a d'Yquem right now... 2006 as I recall and in the $350 range. Can't remember the bottle size for sure, but I think it was a 750.

For our Port tasting, which I mentioned earlier, I stopped by the Kirkland Costco (for those not aware - this is where "Kirkland Signature" comes from) and found they had the Otima 10 and Fonseca Bin 27 at the store. I talked to their wine person and asked about the Kirkland 10. She mentioned it came from Fonseca, as I've read on but they don't have any now. She expected they'd show up closer to the holidays. However she recommended checking online.

So I did. And I found the Kirkland Signature 10 for $9.79. I bought four - two for the party, one to make sure it was good enough for the party, and one to verify my initial findings...

However I found something else they had online that I decided to buy - Dow's 20 yr Gift Set (one glass/one 750ml) for $29.97. I bought three of them. I was going to buy two, however I thought that one might make a neat prize for the tasting. We could do some sort of trivia contest or something. But I still reserve the right to change my mind and hide it in my office somewhere too...

It looks like the shipping happens only from Auburn, WA and out of CA. So the distribution area is limited. The number for the Dow's is 350652 if you're in WA and want to order. Unfortunately the shipping for the seven bottles is $23 and the tax is almost $15 more.

Wow, that is a good price. Been a long time since I had the Dow 20, but I recall being unique for the big name 20's out there.

After talking to my wife, we're now thinking that we could keep the extra 20 and give away the 10... I like the way she thinks!

And too bad I can't just go into a store and pick it up and save the expensive shipping! The frustrating thing is that I ordered it hoping for a Wed delivery since that's my day off. Now I'm afraid it will show up while I'm at work and I'll have to go get it. I think it's coming from the Auburn warehouse - it would be worth it for me to be able to just drive down and pick it up.
