I just thought that my answer was probably not the best as they focus on table wines mainly.

Tricky to answer really since it reflects my exposure/points of reference.

I would pick Meao and Portal.

Relative terms, Quinta das Tecedeiras, from 3k liters in 2006 to 18k in 2008. In volume could be Portal but they have have other brands such as Porto Parador and Porto Alegre. So I would go for Quinta do Infantado.

Yes, Frederick, I wondered where that came from. I love Crasto, but for as long as they've been around, I'd expect some stellar VPs once in awhile. I am still waiting for one. I love those guys, and even their LBV is very solid, but their DOC wines are in a VERY different league.

Tercedeiras is an interesting bet. I have been wowed by their Ports for a couple of years now 2-3. Additionally, the prices of their Ports and DOC wines are so reasonable, that I was stunned when I first heard the prices after trying several. Sadly, try as I did over and over ... I was not able to coax them to respond to my emails for 2007 samples. Their loss, as they are already in the USA and get virtually no exposure elsewhere in the country.

Quevedo is one to watch for sure. :winepour:

Jose Antonio Mendes, I was the first in N. America to ever try his Ports and first to write about them, with v. good TNs on their VP and LBV.

Others that have po-tential ... Estanho, Duorum and a few others ... but I'll wait to hear from more :ftlop: folks before spilling all the beans in this one post.

I *loved* the 2006 Quinta do Portal. Their 2003 is stunning. Their LBVs have been very solid. I would imagine that their 2007 is extremely good. That's my pick. Second would be Quinta Vale Dona Maria. But Quinta do Roriz might be the best of all. I need more current tastes of both of those last two.
