Making benchmark possible prices should be "standard" and not "discounts / special prices". It should be possible for others to buy the bottles mentioned (at the price mentioned as well).

Krohn colheita 1991 (it's possible to get this bottle in Denmark below $30)

No fair Moses! Maybe you got these for under $30, but today I see one bottle of the Croft at auction for $45, then the price jumps to about $60. One place in the UK has the Cockburn for $38.20, then the price jumps to $80. And the lowest price I can find for the Vesuvio is $48. (All from wine-searcher.com.) Where can I get these for $30? In NH, I can usually get Sandeman 20 year tawny for $30.

Should also include 1995 Dow Quinta Bom Fin, Kirkland 10 year Tawny, Delaforce 10 year Tawny, various "Crusted Ports" including Dow.

The Dow's 2003 LBV is quite good, and just under $20 near me.

2003 Taylor Fladgate LBV, or if you prefer yours unfiltered then get the 2003 Noval LBV. Both of those should be available just about anywhere for around $20.

On the tawny side, since 20-yr olds aren't readily available at that price and since Nimrod isn't made anymore, I'd have to go with the Niepoort 10-yr old.

Ahhh - Kurt - you are a ruby-guy! You can get some pretty nasty colheitas below $30 :yumyum: But you have to aknowledge both ruby and tawny...

Moses,

I must say that one of the most wonderful things about the Forum which is a few days shy of 4 years old, is that I have NEVER seen someone unwilling to share their source of supply, especially when asked directly. It is truly one of the greatest assets of this community vs. what I see on a plethora of other wine related bulletin boards and forums online. I hope you will consider, re-considering and sharing with others here at FTLOP!

[friends.gif]

Respectfully,

Roy

(P.S. the only time I have ever seen this before on :ftlop: was with a specific auction lot someone was bidding on and in that case, I don't blame people for being a bit dodgy.

2000 Sandeman Vau Vintage on the shelf for $22.00. Seems like a good price for a vintage to me. Saw about 5-6 bottles but did not go for it.

The list (near the end of the thread) has been updated with everyone's suggestions. Might make a great print out for those looking for some bargains to seek out this Fall.

Warre's Bottle Matured LBV - any vintage but 1992 and 1994 are both excellent for drinking now if you can find them.
