For The Love Of Port

This is my first white port. The bottle says to drink at room temperature. Which I did at first. I think that was a mistake as it was really hot and a bit unpleasant. I chilled it for about 40 minutes and that seemed to take the edge off.

The nose was a very beautiful, reminded me very much of the nose on Dow's '86 Bofim. It had a plesantness on the palate with a bit of herb notes. The finish was not too long, but still enjoyable. Overall, this seemed to be a decent inexpensive white port. I think it would be great to try chilled on a warm evening before dinner with friends.

"This is my first white Port".I hear this is expression and "I even did not knew there was a white Port" almost everyday.
I'm glad to know that you have apreciated that one,altough for me the "Lágrima" Ports are the "less good" that I know of all White Ports (with the exception of the Portal Lágrima wich is very good)
Big problem about this extra sweet white Ports is that they are almost like a sirop,so it's quite hard to feel some fruit flavour while tasting.
It's the Port with the highest sugar content (it has normally more then 140 gr. of sugar for each litter!)
You must try some other normal sweet whites!

Yes, I am now on the look for more white ports to try. They are a little hard to find here in California. Most stores around me only carry a couple of inexpensive white ports, mostly US made stuff that, i am sure, is probably not very good. I hope to find some good white port soon :)
