I was suppose to open that during the Christmas Hollyday but it wasn't possible to gather all the people I wanted to make them taste this. So last Friday was finaly the right day!

Bottled by Bristol, I had to work quite a bit with the Ah-so to remove this cork as it was glued to the neck. It stayed in the decanter for 6 hours before pouring it. I was surprise with his color, still dark ruby, we can see trough, almost no lighter color edge. Complex nose, very open and intense, notes of tobacco, field berries, floral, intermixed in this very fresh bouquet. The mouth is an iron fist in a velvet glove, concentrated, yet fresh and balance. Very sweet, the flavors of caramel, spices, sweet plums and spices are caressing the palate through an powerful finish that lingers on many lawers of flavours, the same as the palate with spicy red cherries after taste. Solid 19/20

Tonight, more than 24 hrs after decanting it, it was still fresh, less complex but drinking superbly. Flavour of licorice was dominating both nose and palate. This is going to last forever!

Along with that, solid performance was made with other bottles
Henri Bonneau Cuvée Marie Beurrier 1998
Chateau Haut-Brion 1970
Chateau Troplong-Mondot 1998
Opus One 1999

I had this once blind last year at our Friday tasting group. We did a little cellar guessing as this guy is a contractor who built my cellar. He calls his business Fonseca Properties and collects much Fonseca port. He had brought the 63 once before. I guessed the 70.
Some thought it 77 or even 85.
It was rich, a slightly pale ruby color. Layers of spicy bouquet and a big yet delicate mouth feel. Many layers of flavors and long finish. My memory is simliar to your notes.
