When to decant 1977 Sandeman
I've picked the 1977 Sandeman as my Thanksgiving Port. I know it's not a transcendent Port experience, but it will be wine number 9 or 10 for 13 people, so I think I'll hold the Nacional to another day. We will get to the Port course at about 6:00 pm. Any suggestions about when to decant? Yesterday is a bad answer.
Thanks Roy

I have not had this particular port; however, I would guess you would be OK with a 6 hour decant. You could probably get away with a 4 hour decant, too...

Sounds about right, I would started drinking it at 4 hours. One of the last good Sandemans (1980 being the last unitl 1994).Andy Velebil wrote:yesterday Just kidding. 5-6 hours would be probably be good for this one.

See tasting note I am posting in the right place. The correct answer to my question was "yesterday" as you will see from the note I just posted.Andy Velebil wrote:Jay,
