2007 Pintas Character Douro
Very prominent, almost sweet nose. This is filled with fruit (sweet cherries and forest fruit), and has plenty of grip. Nice dark chocolate and coffee flavours. Long, spicy and tannic finish. Although full and big, it has a beautiful elegance as well, as it is well balanced by its freshness. This is very good for a second wine. Many estates would be happy if this was their premium bottling. Impressive.
