2007 Vintage Port Tasting in Germany

Post by Anton W. »

Next week friday February 12th, I will be attending this great tasting of 2007 VP's in Leverkusen. It is organised by Axel Probst (World of Port) and IVDP. I am really looking forward to this event and to complete the weekend, I will also be visiting the next day's match of Bayer Leverkusen (the current leader in the Bundesliga).

Is anyone else of you FTLOP-people going to Leverkusen? Maybe we can meet over there. Should be nice.

Germany is a long way to fly for us Yanks, just for a 2007 VP tasting. We could organize a pretty great one here for the cost of two air tickets to Germany. Besides, it is that Axel guy.

If I lived in the vicinity I would certainly consider going, but it would take quite a bit more than that ('07s) to get me to shell out nearly the cost of two cases of 1977 VPs. [shrug.gif]

It would be great to drink with you again though Anton! :salute:

Anton,

I'm fairly new to Port but the event looks interesting and a great way to learn. If I get off work in time I will probably go. It is about 1-1.5 hrs from my house. Maybe I'll see you there. I'll be the lost person that only speaks English.

Look for Axel the organizer. He may be German but his English is darn good. Tell him you're from FTLOP
