Disaster In Madeira!!!!

In case no one is browsing the Madeira forum..... another of our members posted a briefing on a violent storm on the island of Madeira. Another report I saw on Yahoo said 32 were dead and 60+ seriously injured, road blocked with huge rocks. Trying to get more information but I thought that with so many of our hearts close to this place and the Portuguese people, we can band together for some aid. Any thoughts?

Also, the http://www.madeira-live.com website has some webcams. It's just still light and not looking great on the promenade down town. Some of the cams are out, and now just as I edit this note, the whole website is down. The rushing water and photos of huge boulders on other news footage was scary. The news is that the damage mainly hit the south of the island around Funchal and not the north at all. I am particularly concerned about our friends at Faja dos Padres in that they are right under Cabo Girao and the reports in general were that waves around Funchal are just massive.
