1966 Vintage
I am looking to buy something from the much praised 1966 vintage, a great year - England won the world cup and I was born so 1 out of 2 ain't bad. I would like something that, if possible, will keep for another 7 or so years that I can open if and when I reach 50. What would users recommend?

David,
Your in luck, 1966 had some wonderful stuff that is still drinking very well and will hold another 7 years no problem. Look for Graham's, Warre's, Dow's, Fonseca, Taylor's, Quinta do Noval Nacional (but very expensive), Sandeman (but I've had some bottle variation from very good to sub-par). So you have quite a lot to chose from and hopefully one that is in your price range.

A taste from a bottle of 1966 Graham's was the WOML( so far).

Graham, Fonseca, and Taylor are all superb.
Something else you might do for the fun of it is pick up a 1966 Kopke Colheita. It is one of the better Colheitas usually available at retail right now, and will easily keep until 2016 in bottle. The last bottling that I can recall was in 2006, but there may be later ones as well.

David,
If you are considering buying some 1966 vintage ports and want to have the best available you should choose any three from the list below:
Fonseca 1966
Fonseca 1966

PS: As a Scotsman, I entirely agree with your evaluation of 1966 - it's a good thing you were born that year otherwise nothing good would have happened

Re: 1966 Vintage
I've cleared this with 'the boss' so now I just need to make the purchase.
Thank you all for the suggestions. Derek - I'm having a bit of a problem selecting from your extensive list
