2003 Quinta do Noval LBV Port -- (unfiltered)
Posted: Tue Apr 20, 2010 4:38 am
Opened 12/06/10
Decanted, sediment firmly set at the base of the bottle from being on the shop shelf.
At first, sweaty whiff of changing room, with some acidity and dried fruit. Good fruit-forward taste, silky, with tangy acidity and tongue-puckering tannin, heat and sweetness provide the finish. Pretty good. Long lingering acidity, with the tannin. It's fairly restrained, and ought to improve. However the acidity makes it a very good food port now - went well with a rich home made Lancashire hotpot this evening.
