I like the concept, but most likely more of a fad that will quickly pass in this economy.

Exactly my thoughts. This why this is done at the liquor store. Distributors at B&M's is still the best method to showcase a wine to a consumer; you get them with the wallets in hand.
Such a small bottle will be too sensitive to heat and it being shipped in the mail all year is setting up the wines for failure.
The small bottle method as they have would be better suited to spirits.
