A muscular port with a striking amount of ripe,roasted fruit flavors.Medium garnet with a ruby-red center,intense,roasted coffee,slightly burnt and raisiny nose,full bodied,with sweet roasted coffee and plum flavors and a balanced,silky finish.

A rare and expensive bottle of Fonseca. Although I would like to try it, I'd rather spend my money on the sure bet, which is the legendary 1948 Fonseca which has always (except one faulty bottle a friend brought to a tasting here in 2003) been an extraordinary wine.
