Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

I have seen it gain popularity for sure in restaurants, especially in NYC. Hard to find a good restaurant that does not offer a few Madeiras at a minimum. Everyone new I give Madeira to loves it and most have bought bottles on their own. Even simple beer drinkers have gone out and bought Madeira bottles based on a glass I served them. Clearly, it's getting the consumer to try it then they're hooked. Madeira has 100's of years of fans so it no suprise.

Roy, thanks for posting the article. That's quite a jump in sales for Waitrose. I'm curious if other UK retailers are seeing a similar surge in Madeira's popularity. To that end, I wonder if world sales have increased.
