This is my perennial favorite of all 20 Year Old Tawny Ports. Amber-orange in color the Duque delivers the proboscis with ponderous and pleasing dried apricot, almond paste and orange marmalade scents which provide a complex and heady bouquet. The intricate mid-palate is filled with rich, unctuous waves of hazelnuts, sweet golden raisins and a velvety butterscotch flavor that is sublime. Ferreira’s signature Tawny showcases its laser-like acidity, creating symmetry between its hedonistic presence and the remarkable length upon swallowing. Gorgeous stuff! 94+ points (4-2-08)
