An ideal by-the-glass pour for hotel and restaurants to have on their back bars. This actually improves after it has been open a couple of days and gains a bit of weight and is richer, smoother and with less obvious alcohol. Dark magenta in color, the aromatics tend towards raspberry, raisins and spice. It delivers a soft and generous mouthfeel and flavors of prune, figs and raisins. This needs no decanting prior to service and is a top selling example of the genre. It matches well with Stilton and cheddar cheese as well as chocolate based desserts, Tiramisu or poached pears, but is delicious all by itself or even with a cigar.
