n/v Delaforce Fine Tawny Port - It is actually for a reduction to be used later this evening but I had to have a couple of sips as I will never cook with something that I would not drink. Pale ruby with a slight tawny glint on the edge. Smells more like a ruby or LBV to me with strawberry and dark cherry essence along with a fleeting marzipan nuance. Surpisingly good weight and richness here with a smooth and luxurious initial approach. Barely a hint of Tawny on the palate with soft and generous cherry, grapy flavors and a hint at nut skin in an off-dry presence. A long and lingering finish is marred by a hot aftertaste, which did not show up at all on the nose.
