Re: 1987 Niepoort Garrafeira Port
The last two were poured in Dirk's presence. Three times since 2020, but one was in February last year, poured by Daniel NIepoort. All of these were incredible. I tried to purchase some and was a bit amazed by the price of more than 550 Euros and saw one being sold for over 600 Euros in Portugal. I ...

Re: help identifying port bottle
Port of the ____ Vintage, has always been used by companies that are presenting a wood-aged single harvest Port. I have OLD bottles of C. da Silva Vintage Port, (1905) etc. and the label is very different back then. That said, I am surprised both my colleagues thought this to be Vintage Port. In fac...

I see that the Http vs. Https is the reason they are trying to sucker someone into paying for the initial site, as without the "s" it is fairly meaningless to own nowadays. Thanks Eric! I was going to warn friends at the IVDP, as I thought maybe they are letting their site registration lap...

Re: Madeira auction, not for the faint hearted - wines you won't ever see again on the market
We usually do not allow such sales to be posted except in the marketplace. To keep this singular offering to those that are truly Madeira enthusiasts and not just curious, I asked Andreas to post this here instead. The list is absolutely daunting ... but yes, not for the faint of heart ... describes...

Nick,
For the most part, the companies are closed for business or have minimal staff on hand, at best. There are many better times of the year to be in Vila Nova de Gaia. Have you found a ride to/from the airport?![Friends [friends.gif]](./images/smilies/friends.gif)

Re: Ports at TCWC
I used to love this company. I believe they were the first in America to hold auctions for wine. I bought a ton of VP magnums from them during 1990-1994. When I look at prices in the list above, while slow increases in price, I paid considerably less for my mags then they are charging for 750s today...

Re: Need New Movie + Video Suggestions
We had a blackout here locally a couple of days ago. It began around noon and ended the next morning around 3 a.m. or so. I got so bored, I left my house and found pretty much all of Sammamish in the black. I drove to Redmond and lights were on, so I went to see a movie, the new James Bond. The past...

Re: Sogrape co-develops kit to restore sense of smell in Covid patients
I have a friend from Liverpool who is a well-known Somm. When she had Covid-19 and lost her taste and smell for well over a half year. She would've paid thousands of pounds for anything that would have brought her senses back earlier than they eventually returned. I have a friend in OR who has never...

Re: 1896 Taylor's Single Harvest Tawny is coming
I am glad to see Eric mentioning that these were originally Krohn. I have photos of ALL 1863 and 1896 White and Colheita versions that were in Port pipes in their old REAL Port Knox. The original. There were three of the 1863's IIRC, but I'll have to take a look when time permits and see exactly how...

Great job Glenn. Glad you enjoyed this version of PHT2. I don't know that we'll ever be able to top this one, but we've never stopped trying to this point in time.
