Re: What have you opened this week?
DR 40 Year Old Tawny Port (bottled 2021) Opened for Port Club. This was one of the bottles I purchased after DR announced that they were no longer going to make a 40. I said I'd take everything they had left, which turned out to be 18 bottles. I opened another one from this purchase recently and wa...

Old bottles never die, they simply turn into candle sticks!
September 30, 2021 Port Harvest Tour Day Five Dinner at D.O.C. to celebrate Dominic Symington's retirement. As the participants were asked to bring a fine bottle of port from their own cellars to share during dinner, I brought a Dow Vintage 1937 for this special occasion. Dominic had never seen this...

Re: What have you opened this week?
Opened a JH Andresen for a guest who will be coming on this year's 20th Anniversary PHT2. It was their 40 year old Tawny and such a classy Port. So good and pure. That's a great Tawny indeed! I bought a few bottles during our 2023 PHT2 visit to Andresen (2023 botling), and cherish the orphan in my ...

Re: What have you opened this week?
Quevedo reserve lagrima white. Normally nice in a mix with tonic and mint or prosecco on a warm, sunny afternoon. This time as an alternative for a sauternes or monbazillac to accompany our goose liver/foie gras. A delightful combination!

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
That looks like a great haul, indeed. I do love DR and Brunheda. Just a quick question: on my first PHT2 in 2021 we also visited Brunheda, where I a.o. bought two bottles of their very old tawny Cask 51. It is clearly a T , but where would you place it age wise? According to my notes from that...

Re: What have you opened this week?
From Roy's 2025 buying opportunity: NV Enólogo 10-Year-Old White Port, an easy drinker. Too bad it's only available in 0,5l bottles, as Marguérite and I would not have mind to have another tasty refill by the end of the evening. Next time we'll open a S. Leonardo's 10-Year-Old White Port as well for...

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
2x OWC-6 Calem 1997 (my bid was very low and I had not expected to win both lots) In 2017 we held a 1997 horizontal blind tasting with 30 1997 VPs and the Cálem was my surprising favorite, and was well liked by just about everyone. I hope those bottles are still doing just as well. Yesterday I open...
