1994 Taylor or 1994 Fonseca?
Don't bother to mention any others from this vintage or other years. I am only concerned with which of these two you think is better for the long term.
IF you had to choose, which VP would it be?

I have the Fonseca rated a point higher than the Taylor when we did the 1994 horizontal tasting a few years back.

Just curious.... is that enough info for you to say you like one over the other?? If tasted side by side, for me that would be enough. But if not side by side, I usually need a 2-3 point difference to feel confident in a preference.Lisa Stevens wrote:I have the Fonseca rated a point higher than the Taylor when we did the 1994 horizontal tasting a few years back.

I would rather see the question as...
Which one would you choose:
1970 Fonseca
1985 Fonseca
1994 Fonseca
2011 Fonseca

Tough call, since both need a lot more time, and I therefore haven't had them often. Both were good but nowhere near ready last time I tried them; if I had to choose now, I'd select the Fonseca, but only based on my general preference rather than on the wines from this year as it's too early to tell.
