1980 Warre Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Extremely dark and thick for its age, with just a little bricking on the edge. Aromas are dark to go with the color, reminding me of the juice we just smelled in the lagares, with grape jam and black currant. There is also some fig and leather. Jammy, juicy, wonderful flavor, along with tannins I feel on the teeth. Medium bodied. With black cherry, sour acid, and nice sweetness, this can go for many more years. Great bottle. 94+ points.
