Bottled by Sogrape in 2020. Color is a moderate ruby, showing it's youth. Dried Bing cherries on the nose. A bit sharp at first on the palate. Then a semi-sweet dried berry fruit emerges. Still some lingering tannins. A touch of spirit on the back end of a medium length finish. Overall, this is a nice QPR, being only $11 at my local Trader Joe's.
84/100
Side note: I'd have no issues buying this again to keep a bottle in the fridge for those days you just want a glass or two without opening something expensive.

I use Madeira for that since you can just leave it on the counter for months with no ill effects.Andy Velebil wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 12:43 pm Side note: I'd have no issues buying this again to keep a bottle in the fridge for those days you just want a glass or two without opening something expensive.

But it's hard to get a decent Madeira for $11Glenn E. wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 2:58 pmI use Madeira for that since you can just leave it on the counter for months with no ill effects.Andy Velebil wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 12:43 pm Side note: I'd have no issues buying this again to keep a bottle in the fridge for those days you just want a glass or two without opening something expensive.![]()

Borges Rainwater Madeira I'm quite impressed with for the money. I thought it would be our cooking wine, but we ended up drinking it all before we had a chance to cook with it. Buying another bottle this weekend!
