1960 Warre Vintage Port

Post by Stewart T. »

Amber-orange in color with some cloudiness. Decanted 4 hours. Chocolate, red fruit and light spices on the nose. Subtle spirit with cherry and red fruits on the palate. The spirit continues through the mid-palette and into the rich, long finish. 91 points.

The spirit in this particular bottle was quite pronounced. It did soften a bit but was a distraction to the rest of it. Still a nice showing of it.

I think that the vintage is incorrect. Shouldn’t it be a 1963?

Was Andy double dipping in his Ports again '60/'63? Or just confusing the TN's? I told you guys not to let him drink too much! [kez_11.gif]

Did the rest of you find that the Warre's had issues or was just ok? And was the 1963 of sound provenance? :salute:

Wish I was there with you guys, but ...

The Warres was the 1960. The Taylors was 1963 and a bottle I brought, but I've forgotten where I picked it up.

I gave the 1960 Warre's 92 points and the 1963 Taylor's 95 points. That is the best 1963 Taylor that I've had!

I corrected the first post subject line. Apologies for listing the wrong producer!
