2009 Smith Woodhouse LBV. Young and tannic fruit. Very good acidity up front and throughout the palate. Dark berries and chocolate dominate Long complex finish. 91 points.
Just got a case of this. Wasn’t expecting it to be this good. Will probably put 6-8 bottles into my offsite for longer aging…and will probably need to buy a replacement as this was going to be my summer house Port.

I just picked up a bottle of this about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't opened it yet. When do you think it might be ready?Andy Velebil wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2026 11:22 am 2009 Smith Woodhouse LBV. Maybe 10 yrs. It’s really good and rather young still. But does drink well now too. If only one bottle I’d probably say wait a bit longer. Or try and pick up a few more to age.Mike J.
