Great haul, Glenn! And yes, the prices were fantastic, solely based on Don's having purchased these puppies many decades ago, when there were a lot less people drinking Ports in the USA and the fact that he really wanted to move these once. 100% sold. His storage is impeccable, and outside of the fact that he had a direct connection with Whitwham's as a supplier, the rest of the story is all good for both buyers and seller. Trust me, he didn't need the money. But he wanted to alleviate some future stress on his wife, which was great for his family. Glad that FTLOPers, on both coasts and in the middle of the country were able to win so much of what was sold.I got one of the cases of Vesuvio, and David got another one, so at least 2 of the 3 went to FTLOPers!
I also got the 1935 Graham (Whitwham's bottling, not the magnum), and David and I split the case of 2011 Graham's The Stone Terraces.
There were some truly amazing prices in that auction. If I had storage space, I'd have picked up all of the 1970 Graham because it went for around $600 per case. $50 per bottle is crazy for a top-tier 1970 VP!
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

I grabbed a lot of both 70 and 77 Graham. Missed the '31 Rabello by one bid.Glenn E. wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 11:23 amI got one of the cases of Vesuvio, and David got another one, so at least 2 of the 3 went to FTLOPers!John M. wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 11:12 am Mike, Andrew K and Brad B went in together and bought a case of 1963 Smith Woodhouse and 10 bottles of 1966 Rabello Valente at that amazing Port Auction at Heritage.
Got beat out on 1994 Vesuvio and two different lots of 1970 Fonseca...hope they went to happy FTLOPers.![]()

2 x 1937 Barros Colheitas won at auction. I'm unclear as to what year they were bottled, but based on the label style I would say it was most likely between 2000 and 2010. From the pics, the bottles look to be in excellent condition.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
Deze week gekocht
Kopke Colheita 1974 via een veiling
Messias 1963
dit was een fles van een oude dame, geen etiket aanwezig: Weet dus erg weinig van de fles.

Those are two nice acquisitions, Melis. Kopke Colheitas are routinely good to excellent. I am unsure if the Messias is a Vintage Port or a Colheita. The Colheitas that I've seen from Messias typically have stenciling on the front of the bottle that says "envelhecido em casco" or aged in casks. But I'm unsure if all Colheitas from Messias said that. Regardless, 1963 was an excellent year, so whether it's a Vintage Port or a Colheita, I'm sure it will be nice. Enjoy it and congratulations.
