Morrell Port Hammer Prices

Post by Santo Roman »

Just and FYI, as soon as I get back into the office on Sunday morning I will get the hammer prices for the ports in our Saturday sale. These will be hammer and buyers premium of 18%.

The things I do for port nerds world round.

Thanks for the info.

It is interesting to see what the auction market values of port are.

Were these prices higher that the pre auction estimates?

Do they represent increase over past Morrell auctions?

Jon,

All the ports were within estimate or higher. We did see an increase in % on all the ports but that is normal for the November and February sales. I assume that some of the % is because the rest of the wine market is going so whacky also. Lots of out of country buyers are buying wine/ports from the US wine auction market because their dollar is so much better than our. I wish I could be paid in Euros!
