NV Fonseca Terra Bella Reserve Port -- (Bio)

Post by Stewart T. »

Huge grappiness on the nose. Smells like we are right there in the lagar crushing these grapes. Tons of primary fruit. Huge violets on the nose and some floral notes. Tanins are present but don't seem integrated yet with the fruit. 87 points. 1/5/08

My son added his own notes on the nose (not taste since he's only 10!)...

Leafy, damp, grapey, link olive oil and vinegar on the nose. Very jammy, strong pure fruit smell and a taste that jumps out at you. Orchid / general floral that is distinct, especially on the nose. Unlike any other Port wine I've smelled. A shocking nose and taste that startles you if you are not ready for it, but unless you are a master of the palate and have tasted multiple exotic Ports, you really can't be ready for it. 93 points.

I enjoyed this when I tried it on the Harvest Tour 2006, and thought it a solid bottle for thier first attempt at an organic Port
Andy Velebil Good wine is a good familiar creature if it be well used. William Shakespeare http://www.fortheloveofport.com
