The first thing I noticed about this was it was a dark tannic and acidic beast that was lacking some primary fruit. there was lots of tobacco/cigar box notes on this with some underlying plums. The finish was a bit hot with lots of acidity showing. I would guess this was either still closed down or just needed at much longer decant to come round. As i did seem to detect some decent life to this, it just didn't want to show it. 90 points
