I'll tell you that the 2003 Taylor has become very expensive in the UK (Due to the Parker 100 point mention). Farr Vintners was selling it for approx. $1100 / case and it sells very quickly at that price. In the US a few month ago I saw a case sell at auction for $650.
I was talking about the 2003 Taylor LBV. I like it a lot, but I don't think Parker gave it 100 points.

Speaking of the 2003 Taylor LBV, I just bought one along with a 2000 Fonseca VP. winechateau.com had the Fonseca on sale last week for $52 each, but by the time I placed my order, they had but one bottle left. So I added a bottle of the 2003 Taylor LBV, on sale for $16 and change, also the last bottle.

No Port, but I spent way too much for some old Madeira. [dash1.gif]

At thesame auction I think, in the aftersale I bought a case of 12 duff gordon 1997 LBV (the catalogue spoke of Vintage 1997, but it was LBV), bottled in 2002. Opened the first last night and it is quite enjoyable. [cheers.gif]

Another six bottles of the 1967 Dalva Colheita, Rui Paula, from the C. da Silva shop.

Yesterday I complimented Rui on the blend and told him that I had purchased nearly a case of his Port ... and considering only 500 bottles were produced that is a decent percentage.

Just managed to pick up 6 Dow 2007 for £300. Not a wine I would have bought based on my early tastings of that vintage, but I'm prepared to admit in 30 years time that I was wrong.

Do you mean to say you disagree with Suckling's rating of 100 points? [foilhat.gif]

Let's just say that Mr Suckling has been tasting port a lot longer than I have and so he saw something in the Dow that I didn't. My favourite from 2007 was the Noval.

Also just bought 6 Quevedo 2007 and 2008 - the 2008 Quevedo being my favourite from that vintage so far.

It's been far too long... both for purchasing decent Port and dropping in on this Forum.

This week I bought 4x 2003 Niepoort VP and 1x Gould Campbell 1985 VP, which I wanted to open for Thanksgiving, but just didn't. So I'm enjoying it now. Light, not much to it early on, but a decent sipper. I may have to go back and get some more since it was a decent price (for VP here in Edmonton) at $79Cdn.

Shipment arrived today, sans Fonseca. I've contacted the merchant to find out the problem. If they are out of it, they should have told me as I'm not sure I would have placed the order, and I certainly wouldn't have agreed to ship with just two bottles (I also ordered a red Douro). Waiting for a response, winechateau.com might go on my black list.

Update: They refunded a portion of my shipping, so it was reasonable for the two bottles ordered. I'm still not happy they didn't have the Fonseca that I ordered, but they won't go on my black list.

Hi!
My wife and I had a mix of ports and Douro wines in our luggage when returning from the FTLOP 2010 Harvest Tour a week ago:

The port wines:
1 btl 1957 Kopke Colheita
2 btl NV Andresen Royal Choice 20 yrs old tawny
2 btl 1999 Quinta de la Rosa LBV (37,5 cl)
1 btl 2005 Quevedo Vintage (in a nice gift box with accessories)
1 btl 2007 Dona Matilde Vintage
1 btl NV Offley Rosè port
1 btl NV Calem Old Friends white port (100 cl)
1 btl NV Ramos Pinto Lagrima white port
1 btl NV Graham's Extra dry white port

And a bottle of 2000 Quinta do Portal Moscatel Reserva

The Douro wines are reported in the Douro wine Forum

Just before leaving on the Harvest Tour, I purchased the flwg ports:
One case (6 btl) Niepoort Vintage 2007
Two cases (12 btl) Quinta do Vale Meao Vintage 2007

I'm jealous! That was my favorite Port of the 2007 Vintage, but we cannot get it in the US.
