Todd is correct, the one on the right is the 2011. It might be tough to see in the image, but the 2008 bottling had a bit more of a lighter orange/garnet rim.
They were both quality wines. The 2008 bottling offered up nuts, chewy caramel and honey. Very open, with ample length. It also showed a more "sticky" "gummy" texture with slightly less cut. The 2011 bottling showed similar flavors but much more subdued; not quite as open and generous. However the 2011 displayed more cut and focus.
I tried mixing the two together and the results were quite nice: the opulence of the 2008 with the precision of the 2011.

I've done this before and often times we'll do something similar on the harvest trip with left overs. I am always amazed at how well they turn out....but i guess when you start with all good parts it's hard to mess it up. You mean when you're half in the bag, mixing tawny's works?
