1983 Taylor Vintage Port
Decant: 7½ hours - Imperial College stock. Mature red appearance, lighter than the T85 shown alongside; 50% opaque. Sweet and mature nose, with some resin tones; quite restrained but very fine. Light bodied texture, thin but flavoursome mid-palate with plenty of structural tannins that are soft and well integrated. Soft fruit, very sweet and with an interesting dusting of mace. Dry aftertaste, then a soft and dry finish with some birch sap and black chocolate of very long length. Lighter than the T85, but very enjoyable. 86 points
