Just to wrap up this thread...
After a hopeful initial contact with TFP concerning this unusual bottle, their final communication left me with little more information than I had already deduced on my own. It was a special Colheita bottling in 1977 from vintage 1934. Duh, I had gathered that from the label. At first they confirmed there were 3 such Colheitas bottled in Taylor's history, then I was told this was the only one. Well I believe they were right the first time, based on posts I've read on this forum.
I asked a number of other questions in my email query, as I had hoped an organization like TFP might have an appreciation for history and be interested in helping me collect some information on this bottle, but alas few of my questions were answered. In fact, their level of interest in assisting me appeared minimal, though they were reasonably cordial about it -- at least they did take time to reply to my enquiry, which I suppose is not an insignificant thing in the modern world of corporate conglomerate winemakers.
