Tonight was a great evening and the chance to FINALLY see the C. da Silva shop. Much narrower than I expected having seen the photos but it is really swanky and I look forward to going back again and again. The only thing missing is somewhere comfortable to sit down and enjoy the Ports, otherwise, I love the place.

I suggested that Goncalo could consider putting a table and chairs outside the entrance, in the little alcove where the extendable sign is at the moment - but what a great place and modern design. Really nice.

Thank you very much for leaving the 1983 Quinta do Noval Nacional at the Dalva shop. I had the time of my life tasting it with Derek, Raul and my brother - as it's my birthday year - the empty bottle is now right in front of me, in my bedroom, next to other dozen of milestone Ports. Once again, thank you

You are very welcome. Derek and I thought you might like it and that it would be special for you. I didn't realise that you were as bad as me and collected milestone empties! Maybe next time Derek and I are in Oporto we'll get you to bring the bottle in to the shop and then we'll drop by and sign the back label for you

And, by the way, thanks for a really great tasting! Next time I come by it will be when I am not about to travel to a work training course from Oporto and so can actually spend some money. Any chance of some older vintage ports being made available...I was born in 1963 and can't get hold of Dalva 1963 very easily

Kopke was the first 20 year old White Colheita that I am aware of.

I saw a full "100 year" lineup of Kopke white Ports at CleriPorto next to the Clerigos Tower. It surprised me so I double checked and yes the 30-year and 40-year bottles were both clearly labeled as white Ports. Any idea if those will ever make it into the US?

This shop really takes port in a fresh and trendy direction. It's like going into a Kartell store or a fashion boutique. One does not get a sense this is a tasting bar at first. It's more like "Am I worthy?" "Can I afford this?" lol.

I really like what they've done with the space and with a little tweaks, this could be port stop for in-crowd or the discerning.

Kopke is the first Port Cellar with all "dated whites" they completed the 10y/20y/30/40y old range in last July...
Always thought that Quinta de Santa Eufémia and Andresen were leading this sector with the 10y/20y/30y whites.
