That's not cheap. Last year in the UK these sold at auction for £885 (say $1600) including premium.

That listing was for two bottles, so if you are talking $1600 each, we are in the same ballpark. Of course the auction isn't over yet.

I purchased a bottle of Quinta Do Noval 1931 at auction this summer and paid 1996 that included the extra charges

The two bottles of 1931 Noval went for $2400 x 1.21 = $2904, or $1452 each.

$50 - 2003 Churchill
$100 - 2007 Graham's - will be great old, but oh so good now
$250 - 1977 Fonseca - yummy
$500 - 1955 Taylor, an otherworldly expericence, best wine of my life
$1000 - 1945 Croft (wish list wine)
