That's not cheap. Last year in the UK these sold at auction for £885 (say $1600) including premium.

That listing was for two bottles, so if you are talking $1600 each, we are in the same ballpark. Of course the auction isn't over yet.

I purchased a bottle of Quinta Do Noval 1931 at auction this summer and paid 1996 that included the extra charges

The two bottles of 1931 Noval went for $2400 x 1.21 = $2904, or $1452 each.
