Bom Dia José,

Nice to see you back here again. In the USA, Porto Cruz is never seen on the shelves and I don't know if it is even imported here. I have only had this while in Portugal and I realize it is one of the most commercialized and best selling inexpensive brands there. I thought the Cruz was simple and had nice fruit and only had it by the glass in a restaurant. I have also had their Ruby while on a boat ride on the Douro around the Entreposto. It will be interesting to see if some of the guys from the UK know this brand and to learn if it is indeed, exported to England.

I have seen this brand in the UK on the odd occasion, but it is not one of the leading brands and only appears in small, esoteric shops.

One can find Cruz in The Netherlands, but it is a very small player in what is a big Port market. Cruz is mostly sold in France, IIRC.

If nothing has changed in the last year, Porto Cruz is still the largest port producers in VOLUME. Most of that is exported to France. Alex K. once did a nice experiment on Cruz VP; not a highly enjoyable experience...

Here in Québec we have a few Cruz including the LBV and Vintage. As said above, this is the big brand for the French. I've tasted only their Vintage 89 as a friend of mine thought he had made a great deal paying 25$ can for a Vintage Port. Well... it's the price of an LBV and it's the quality of an LBV, though some LBV are better.
