1964 Quinta do Noval Colheita Port

My annual birthday bottle. These have been very consistent so far and all excellent or outstanding. I didn't take formal notes this time around, so these are just my impressions a couple of days later.
1964 Noval Colheita
Color: A dark, rich tawny with a faint tint of red still peeking through. Clear, but not vibrantly so.
Nose: I don't recall much alcohol on the nose, which is good. Otherwise typical of older Colheitas. This one didn't remind me of Madeira, either, which is also good.
Palate: Rich, luscious, smooth... all-around yummy. Nicely balanced acidity that was very present, but not overpowering. Lots of caramel and a little cinnamon. They only (very minor) detraction was just a tiny bit of edginess. It was easily overlooked, though, and I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been paying attention.
Finish: Long and smooth. Nice warmth.
Score: 94 points. Right on the edge between excellent and outstanding, so I let my bias for my birthday Port cast the deciding vote.
