Bottled in 1999
It's been hot, real hot in Los Angeles this week, so a chilled Tawny was in order to help beat the heat after work. I opened this yesterday and after getting home a bit late tonight, settling in with a few glasses and a great book, I managed to drain the contents of said bottle. Zero hints of ruby left, this exhibited lots of aged characteristics; cedar, maple, honey, cloves, and roasted nuts with just the right amount of spirit to keep things even. A very faint amount of cigar box would arise as the glass would warm up a little, then disappear as I poured a new chilled one. A bit of granular sediment at the end didn't deter me. One of better showings of this I've had...a perfect way to enjoy the evening.
