Decant: 1½ hours - The second of the Mitcheltomb bottles. Pale barley sugar colour, very light centre and clear rim. Tobacco and caramel or crème brulee nose with Grand Marnier orange spice on top. Very sweet and elegant entry but with tannins and some bitterness in the midpalate. Good acidic core and then lots of candied citrus fruit coming through a brown sugar surround. Super aftertaste, dominated by quince and citrus peel, that lasts a long, long time before fading away to a mild tobacco. Terrific wine, superb drinking and not one that needs to be rushed. 7/7. 93 points
