Decant: 8 hours - Mature red in colour, showing the red / brown mix of maturity. Similar nose to the Warre 1970 shown alongside, but not as well developed; slightly hot, with All Spice and cherries. Slightly sweet entry, then full of dry cherries. Quite harsh on the sides of the tongue; joy, but with ripe cherry fruit and dry tannins on the tip of the tongue. Some heat on the aftertaste, which fades to leave a good length finish that is full of cherry juice. This wine particularly benefited from sitting in a glass for an extra hour. 89/100. Drunk 6 May 2010 after 8 hours decanting. 89 points
