TN: 1970 Gould Campbell Vintage Port

Decant: 18 hours - Deep red, holding into the rim but with a centre that is just transparent. Closed on the nose, showing surprisingly little. Soft and sweet texture on entry; ome bitter woodiness among the plums and prunes. A big palate presence and good flavour profile although the bitter edge stays in the mix. The tannins are very soft and mature. The immediate aftertaste is empty, but a powerful finish is felt in the cheeks, that brings bitter chocolate and sweet blackcurrant. This port still needs more time in the cellar to reach its peak. 88 points
