Decant: 2 hours - A very pleasant surprise, a bottle of Taylor 1955 with a mid-shoulder fill turned out to be Taylor 1948 and in wonderful nick. Decanted very cleanly off a large amount of leafy sediment. Light colour, transparent centre and an orange rim. Nosing wonderfully of fresh cherries and cloves. Thick texture and sweet entry; delicious mature fruit flavours and incredible complexity. Stunning aftertaste and a huge finish - massive and mouthfilling. An astonishing port. 96 points
