Decant: 21 hours - Light colour, clear centre, but colour holding into the rim and darker than the Fonseca 1963 shown alongside. Nose has a strong spearmint tone over the top of sweet redcurrants and a lovely cinammon. Initial sweet but neutral in flavour. Then comes a burst of tinned cherry fruitiness and then a streak of acidity before the fruit comes through again. Sadly, the alcohol is disjointed and not fully integrated leaving a port which is unbalanced and not well integrated. The aftertaste is hot and dry. 89 points
