TN: 1989 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port

Decant: Just Opened - Ruby colour showing considerable evolution. Nose comes with a touch of mushroom and mint, very herbaceous. Sweet into the mouth. Odd bitterness in mid-palate, slightly baked - perhaps Douro bake from being stored at Vesuvio for its first two years in the bottle. Acidic backbone. Pleasant but not great. Good length that develops nicely. 87 points
