Decant: 2 hours - Good red colour, just turning transparent in the centre but holding into the rim. Still surprisingly young blackcurrants n the nose. Initially dry and reserved in the mouth, with fruit restrained by a substantial amount of tannin. Clove complexity in the mid-palate and a lot of heat late in the mouth before more aeration brings back some blueberry. The aftertaste is big and fruity with a tingle on the cheeks before leaving a long finish of sweet Cox' apples. Clearly a wine with a good few years development yet to come. 92 points
