1981 Niepoort LBV Port

Tasted at the Niepoort lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia on 04-OCT-2010 as part of the 2010 Port Harvest Tour.
My notes from the Niepoort lodge are somewhat lacking due to fatigue.
1981 Niepoort LBV
bottled 1986
Ruby color. Cranberry, alcohol, and candied dates on the nose. Very soft, very secondary in the mouth. Fine acidity. Very delicate.
Score: 85 points. This was the most notable (not best... just the most interesting) Port served to us at the Niepoort lodge. It's now the oldest LBV that I've tasted.
