Dark purple in color. Still primary fruit on the nose - raspberry and some dark cherry. A hint of that classic, vesuvio terroir and intensity. Great fruit, tanins and concentration of fruit on the palate, and a wonderful long finish. This wine was especially remarkable, as this was the wine the I helped to foot-trod on my first ftlop trip in 2006. As I sipped this wine and shared with others on Christmas day, I recall with wonderful memories my dear friend Roy who opened up a new world of Port to me, and the wonderful friendships (especially all you Brits!) that I made on my inagural trip to the Douro. Finally, I so appreciate all of the passion and devotion that all of the winemakers in the Douro put into the wines they produce. So, back to the wine...94 points.
