Have you ever had a wine a whole bunch of times but never seemed to write a Tasting Note on it? Well this is mine. I've had this more times than I can remember now and yet as far I can find it's my first actual TN on it. Not sure how that happened, but this will change that.
The first commercial release of this white Douro wine from Quinta do Crasto and composed of 35% Gouveio, 35% Cercial, 15% Roupeiro and 15% Rabigato. Lots of grassy lemon citrus zest on the nose. One of things I've really enjoyed about this wine over the past couple years is the perfect balance it achieves of being crisp without being too light bodied, allowing the bright acidity and citrus fruits to shine. Grass and citrus flavors linger for a considerably long time that becomes longer and more pronounced the more the bottle sits open. While I don't have any formal notes for reference, I'd swear this is getting better as it ages and still should hold up for at least a few more years if not longer.
