Belongs to the Niepoort Projectos and produced in two vintages (2000 and 2005). The wine has been made at Quinta do Mouro in Alentejo. A wide range of grapes: Aragonez / Trincadeira / Alicante Bouschet / Touriga Nacional / Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Petit Syrah. With some very good exceptions, I am not too keen on the traditional Alentejo-style, as I often find them to be “over-fat” (could not find a better expression). Purchased two bottles as I was curious to see what kind of result there would be in a Douro / Alentejo-joint venture. Produced 6,500 bottles. As you will see from the scores, I do not mind drinking the second bottle fairly soon.

Decanted 1 hr. Dark red colour with a light rim. Fresh and fruity aroma with some oak. Full body. Taste is powerful, red fruits, smooth, tannins are dominant towards the end of the taste. A traditional Alentejo with a clear influence from Douro. Medium length. Nice wine in combination with red meat. 90 pts.
