Unfiltered, Bottled in 2004.
Solid, very dark purple that shows garnet highlights when held up to the light. The nose is dark and primary as well - concord grape, plum, black cherry, dark chocolate and black pepper. The palate brings to mind the same dark grape/black cherry fruit as the nose - sweet, juicy and very tasty. There's some black pepper heat and a moderate amount of tannins that come through on the midpalate, though it smoothed out nicely over several days of being open. The finish is on the short/medium side but not at all clipped. Very good LBV that's chock full of yummy fruit and should improve for quite a few years in the cellar. Thumbs up. 88/89 pts, Tasted 3/11
